Ken Humphrey
Candidate for Beaufort Commissioner

Election Note:
Beaufort COMMISSIONERS RACE.
This blog author is running for one of the three seats up for election.

Three of my main issues:
First a fact – We live in paradise, go slow with changes.  Let’s not mess it up.

(1.) Getting Beaufort’s streets repaved, repaired in a carefully managed plan and progression.

(2.) Keep Beaufort’s Historical Heritage preserved forever.

(3.) Continue to work on the Parking situation, to make it fair for everyone – tourists, resort-restaurant workers, and for local businesses. I would be willing to compromise when it is the majority will, with fairness to all. Let’s all go forward together while listening to everyone.

Iconic photo of a time gone by.

As many as 60 to 75 shad boats would be in Taylor's Creek at one time. The industry thrived from the late 1800s to 1970s when it started to fade year by year. The one remaining shad fleet and shad processing factory today is in Reedsville, Virginia.
